Work, Work, Chika

September 13, 20259:52 pm I just realized it work be hard for me to do this 100 words challenge thing (I still don't have a cute name for the challenge) when I am at work because I usually get home late. Yes, I do work outside of the house sometimes. Anyway, today was kinda busy. Went to work at Three Yards. Bought some cute stuff. I walked to SM City Davao to attend a Huawei XMAge event. After the event, walked back to Three Yards. Proud of myself. Work was ok. Tried new stuff. Then, went out to dinner with my cousins. The Japanese food at Nonki was good. As always. Enjoyed the Buckwheat Noodles and Tempura. Plus, Crunchy Roll and other stuff. The highlight of the day? All the chika and chismis. That's it for today. See you tomorrow.

MFAT: Soccsksargen Summer Safari Day 2

This is a very late post. I know. I'm sorry. :P But better late than never, right? May 30 was Day 2 of the first ever Mindanao Food Appreciation Tour: Soccsksargen Summer Safari. The day began early for the participants as we woke up from our comfy beds at the Ice Castle Experience. Our gracious hosts Avel and Orman Manansala together with Donna Congson fetched us very early. Why? To have our breakfast at Dolores Farm Resort en route to Lake Sebu. Most of us lacked sleep, but nobody complained after seeing the very beautiful Dolores Farm Resort and the yummy breakfast they have prepared. Aside from the bangus, sinangag, and itlog combo meal, they served deep fried tilapia and hot native chocolate. I love Tilapia. Bow. And I was overly (AS IN OA!) excited to see the very pretty deep fried tilapia. And the hot native chocolate was a the perfect drink to complement the meal. Aside from breakfast, we toured the Dolores Farm Zoo. It freaked me out by most of the participants enjoyed it. Sorry na, I'm not an animal lover. Our next stop? The Seven Falls of Lake Sebu. It was breath-taking. Literally and figuratively. We…

Banana Leaf Asian Cafe Food Trip

4 appetizers 1 soup 9 viands 2 noodle dishes 2 rice dishes 4 desserts TOO MUCH? DEFINITELY! Singaporean Style Prawn Toast That's how much food were served to us when we visited the Banana Leaf Asian Cafe earlier this evening. Of course, we started off with appetizers. My favorite among which was the Singaporean Style Prawn Toast. Mainly because there were sesame seeds on top. White and black! YUMMY! It was a bit greasy but I didn't mind. I also likes the Roti Dog with Mango and Curry Sauce. The curry sauce was a bit mustard-y. Another hit was the Vietnamese Prawn Ball with CHEESE. Shrimp Wanton Soup with Curry Laksa Then we had the Shrimp Wanton Soup with Curry Laksa. It was a bit spicy, with a tinge of sourness which I absolutely loved. The soup was a bit creamy yet very thin and light. The shrimp wantons were also very tasty. Then, dish after dish after dish of viands, rice, and noodles were brought out and served. GRAWRRR! There was pork, beef, chicken, fish, squid, and vegetables. My favorites were the Wok Fried Squid with Basil, the Malayan Beef Curry, and the Macau Style Baked Mixed Vegetables. Sweet…

Dieting For Vanity's Sake

Yeah, yeah, yeah... been starving myself since the other day. Tuesday I didn't eat ANYTHING for dinner except some crackers and two pieces of oatmeal cookies. Today I ate tocino and a quarter cup of rice for lunch, luglug for dinner (at 5 pm!), and some slices of wheat bread. WHY YOU ASK?! Because I'm vain! I'm dieting so I could but new clothes and fit them well. And yeah, I think it's time to find a new boy. And boys nowadays are pretty much attracted to the thin types... so yeah, I'm dieting for them too. I am LOL'ing at myself now coz I know that clothes and boys won't really make me a better person, or happier. But yeah, I'm dieting coz I want them boys and clothes. :P I have resolved, however, not to starve myself. Rather, I'll eat but eat only healthy food and lessen consumption of indulgences such as chocolate, desserts, coffee, and chichirya. So here's to me trying to lose weight yet again... and this time it's for clothes and boys!

CACS Skills Batch 3 Legacy Dinner

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Legacy Dinner of Batch 3 of the Skills Course the Center for Asian Culinary Arts. Aside from getting to eat all those yummy foods they served, I hosted the event. It was a virtually fuss-free gig. :) Oh, you're more interested in the food? While waiting for the buffet to open and the other guests to arrive, I munched on a Foccacia served with Chicken Liver Pate and Confit. I'm a fan of liver pate so I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pate had a nice smooth texture and was very flavorful. The focaccia was nothing extraordinary, but it had olives in it so YEY! They served three types of salads: Ceasar's, Waldorf, and Salad ala Greca. They also had California Maki, Manhattan Maki, Tekka Maki, and Tuna Sashimi, and Salmon Sashimi. I only got to try the sashimis because well, there was just to many people lining up and they ran out of the makis. The sashimis were fresh. The tuna was kinda cold and iced, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. There were two types of pastas and two types of sauces. I had Spaghetti with the Pomodoro with Italian Sausage.…

Almost Over

One last dinner, and the first-ever Davao Food Appreciation Tour is over. I'm happy it has been successful and fun. Not to mention the stress will end. But I'm also sad coz Ate Aileen and Kuya Sweetie Jay are going back to Manila soon (not too soon though - YEY! :D ), and Avel and Mars are going back to Gen Santos. Hopefully, we have more participants next time. And of course... more food to enjoy. :)
