I have gained a considerable amount of weight due to a strong dosage of steroids and well, too much eating. I gained around 20 pounds or around 7 kg. Saaad. I still fit most my clothes but I don't feel too comfortable in my clothes and my look anymore. And I'm not a photogenic as I used to be. LOL! I akshully look good IRL now, more than in photos. Or so I choose to believe. Har! Anyhow, the point is... I will try to lose the 20 lbs by February 14, 2011. January is not attainable because I do not want to follow a strict diet during the holiday season. Hehe! As a start, I have already banned myself from eating instant noodles and chichirya or chips. It's a hard thing to do, but I have managed to follow it for around 2 weeks already. I have also lessened my soda and juice intake, and have resorted to drinking lots of ice cold water, which I love anyway. I still drink coffee and milk chocolate though. I plan to reduce my rice intake as well as my intake of other carbohydrates such as bread (OH MY!) and potatoes. I…

Great Day
Just had a great day! By any other standards, it was a normal hectic day. And that's what made it so great. I was hospitalized for a week, and it almost a week since I was discharged but not allowed to go out. And while I didn't go out today, it is the first time in a long time that I felt normal. The day started out with breakfast of pancakes. Yummy! And some meds. Meh! Then, I dove right into work. I accomplished tasks for WordCamp Ph 2010, Avatar Media, and Davao Bloggers. I also made scripts and coordinated for Davao Poker TV. Plus, I published and publicized some blog posts and started working on article submissions. I started most of these before lunch. WHOA! My relatives were here for lunch. We ate sinigang, kaldereta, and balbacua. Plus fruits, ice cream, and chocolates for dessert. Extra yummy and fun. With my nephews playing and running amok in the background, I went right back to my chores, tasks, and articles. I had to wear a face mask because there were too many people around. It was quite hard to breathe but I was able to work efficiently, nonetheless. Plus, I…
Things That I am Not Allowed to Have or Do
I have been diagnosed with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). This is an autoimmune disease. This is further complicated by my pre-existing conditions of being asthmatic, being allergic to a lot of things, among others. Plus, I have a tendency to retain more water and gain weight because of my ITP medication. As a consequence, I have to change my life. Totally! Here is a list of things I am not allowed to have, eat, or do: prolonged exposure to sun stress poor diet or not eating on time coffee hot food and drinks chicken shrimps and crabs salty foods smoke and cigarette smoke alcoholic drinks nuts dirt and dust pollen large crowds sick or sickly people infections massage, facial, manicure, pedicure, and hair treatments things that will cause me to bruise, bleed, or get injured such as sharp corners, sharp objects, and heavy things lack of sleep I have to avoid these for at least a month. Plus, I'd have to wear a mask when I go out in public or get exposed to people. Yeah, I know. I won't have a life anymore. PFT! The only good news, the best news is... I'm alive. :) If all goes well…
MFAT: Soccsksargen Summer Safari Day 2
This is a very late post. I know. I'm sorry. :P But better late than never, right? May 30 was Day 2 of the first ever Mindanao Food Appreciation Tour: Soccsksargen Summer Safari. The day began early for the participants as we woke up from our comfy beds at the Ice Castle Experience. Our gracious hosts Avel and Orman Manansala together with Donna Congson fetched us very early. Why? To have our breakfast at Dolores Farm Resort en route to Lake Sebu. Most of us lacked sleep, but nobody complained after seeing the very beautiful Dolores Farm Resort and the yummy breakfast they have prepared. Aside from the bangus, sinangag, and itlog combo meal, they served deep fried tilapia and hot native chocolate. I love Tilapia. Bow. And I was overly (AS IN OA!) excited to see the very pretty deep fried tilapia. And the hot native chocolate was a the perfect drink to complement the meal. Aside from breakfast, we toured the Dolores Farm Zoo. It freaked me out by most of the participants enjoyed it. Sorry na, I'm not an animal lover. Our next stop? The Seven Falls of Lake Sebu. It was breath-taking. Literally and figuratively. We…
No Pork FAIL!
I have already failed for in my No Pork this June diet. I ate Lechon Paksiw during our dinner with Orman last week and I ate grilled liempo when I ate dinner with Dulce last night. FAIL! FAIL! FAIL! As penalty, I will be extending No Pork for two weeks. And I will not eat rice and drink soda for the rest of the month of June beginning tomorrow. Wish me luck! :)
No Pork this June
I am happy to announce after the failure that was no fried chicken in April, I succeeded in having no coffee for may. This June, for my self-discpline exercise / monthly dietary restriction, I will try to avoid pork. For somebody who loves bacon, ham, tocino, pork chops, and many other pork dishes... this will be hard. But I don't think I will struggle too much. I succeeded in eating no rice for a month rice, right? This no pork thing should be a breeze. Wish me luck!
