I’m Attending the Cebu Blog Camp 2010

I was in Cebu months ago but I was mostly confined to the hotel. Hence, the boring photo of me in the business attire. But I'm going back there next weekend and I am very, very, very much excited. Aside from the promise of good food and great company, I will be attending the Cebu Blog Camp 2010. The theme of the event is "Blogging, Expressions, and Opportunities." And not just that, I will be a speaker, too. My good friend, Winston Almendras is one of the organizers of the event and he has invited me to be part of the program. I will be talking about "Blogging in the Community, for the Community" with emphasis on the "essence of utilizing blogging for community building." Interesting. I will be speaking in behalf of and based on my experiences and insights with Davao Bloggers, Avatar Media, and as a Diyosa Blogger. LOL with me people! I expect to have a nerve-wracking but insightful good time as a speaker. I hope to impart my insights and gain inputs from the participants as well. Other speakers of the events are Mica Rodriguez, Aileen Apolo - de Jesus, Evanjohnn Mendoza, Janette Toral, Juned Sunido,…

Designing Beads Accessories

Making beads accessories, that's something a lot of people already know. Designing them? That's the hard part. That's probably the bulk of what you're paying for when you buy accessories. That's also what I learned during the FunDynamics Beads Accessories Design Workshop with Em Mariano last Sunday. It was very challenging for me, somebody who is not creative at all!!! I was conditioning myself for 9 hours of struggling with beads, pliers, and other materials. What I didn't expect was how much I would enjoy it and how it would bring out my competitive side. Yes, I was getting competitive during a workshop where there wasn't any competition at all. And my short attention span really gave me tons of motivation to accomplish a lot. It yielded for me 2 extra earrings and a prize, a nice brown link chain bracelet. WOOHOO! That day I got to make 1 ID holder, 3 pairs of earrings, a bracelet with cord braided into chain links, and a cellphone charm. Very cute pieces, if I might say so. But more than the extra accessories, I gained new skills, mad skills, if I might say so... and got a bit creative. Thank you FunDynamics…

Coffee

No Coffee for May

This is a very hard resolution for me to make. But one that I absolutely must do. Ouch! For the month of May, no coffee for me. SAAAD! It's another discpline exercise I'm doing. I was successful for February and March but I failed my no fried chicken exercise in April. So I must, must, muuuust succeed again this month. So, medyo paalam muna to my favorite offices: Kangaroo Coffee Company and Kopi Roti. I might visit you sometimes this month, but I won't be there as much as I do. Wish me luck! :) Latte art by Kangaroo Coffee Company.

Mica and Ria

Happy Birthday Mica!

Hi there Micaela "Mica" Rodriguez! I am wishing you a happy, happy, happy birthday! You and I are the same. I was once where you are now. Just work hard, love earnestly, be kind and the world will smile on you. And while you might not always get what you want, need, or deserve... believe me there is no other way to live your life other than to be kind, sincere, and generous. It might not always yield for you what you expect, but it will give you a kind of fulfillment that no other kind of life will give. Do not expect people or the world to act the way you want them to. The world will not always bend to what you want or need. Adjust, learn to accept and let go. Do not always seek or pine for romantic love because that will make you ignore or forget that there is so much love around you from your family, friends, colleagues, and the other people around you. Romantic love will come at a time when you are ready to face its beauty and its pains. Treasure the people who nurture you to be the best that you…

My 28th Year Part Deux

Continuation... And to start off 2010, I listed down 10 things I'd do in 2010. I have been on track so far. I am able to buy myself a new netbook. And not just any netbook, but one of the best in the market today. Hooray! I also enrolled myself in belly-dancing classes and joined a hip-hop class.I have stopped belly-dancing classes, for the meantime due to my busy schedule but I plan to go back to it soon. And I intend to join hip-hop classes again soon. :) The poker gods have been good to me the past year. I won in several poker tournaments and is now considered a serious poker player. Another goal for me this 2010 is to visit more places in Mindanao. I was lucky enough ti have been invited by the Manansala sisters to take part in General Santos City's Kalilangan Festival. I was a judge in their Queen of Mindanao Festivals Pageant and I enjoyed it very much. I saw new sights, gained new friends, and gained some pounds as we ate the best dishes from the city. I am also happy that I am now working with several establishments that I love:…
