Podcast 1: Cebu Blog Camp

I have been blogging for more than six years. (I know, right?) After attending the Cebu Blog Camp last weekend, I became more inspired to improve as a blogger. I decided to finally do something I have never tried: PODCAST.

My first podcast was as a guest in the Pakbet Podkast last Sunday which was so sabog and funny. I did mention the Cebu Blog Camp there but we also talked about a lot of other things.

I decided that I would start my own podcast. And since I am not sure yet what my podcasts are going to be about and how I am going to structure and direct it, I decided to make a test podcast with Cebu Blog Camp as a topic.

I know it’s not much but I tried. 😛

Once again, thank you to Winston Almendras for the invitation, Chiq Montes for the accommodations, and to John Mendoza and the rest of the Cebuanos for a warm welcome.

Podcasting Info:
I used the microphone of an A4Tech Headset to record the podcast. The recording software used is the Windows 7 Sound Recorder, imported to ULead Video Studio, edited and saved as MP4. I converted the MP4 to MP3 using a free software from Brothersoft. Then, I uploaded it to Archive.org. Nosebleed!

  1. Photoblogger, hope you like it. 🙂

Winston, di yung hard sell. Hard sell is when I say “GIVE THIS KID A HIGH PAYING JOB. HE IS GOOOOOD!” or “GET THIS GUY A GIRLFRIEND!” LOL! 😛

  2. Wow! nice podcast Ria. Pwede ka palang maging Radio Jock, may ka boses ka na dating radio jockey dito sa CDO.

Thanks for the mention, it was nice meeting you at Cebu Blog Camp. First meeting natin was in Gensan for MBS2.

Congrats to Cebu Bloggers! I’m having fun on the event and learned new things, kaya lang medyo shy ako to approach everyone there kasi medyo mahiyain drama ko that time, tapos late pa kami ni Edu (hehehe). Looking forward for another blog event to attend soon.

  3. Hi Ria! I was one of those who attended Cebu Blog Camp 2010 (yey pioneer!) Thanks for your talk then. I really did learn a lot from the speakers.
This podcast idea is cool. Do you have a writeup of your topic already or do you just say whatever comes to mind? Para na ring audio blog 😉

  4. Hi Lainee! Love you blog name. Even joked to my companions that you are my new bestfriend by virtue of you having a cool blog name. 🙂

I don’t do a write up. Just an outline and some notes. 🙂

  5. the topic sounded interesting.

but the podcast was too long; gets listeners bored. ensure transitions (sneak in or fade in) between music and voice.

getting to know and learning about new media is fun! 🙂

  6. Hahaha thanks Ria. I’ll probably be demoted from that status though coz I’ll be switching to another site soon and changing the name a bit 😀
You’ve been blogging for more than 6 years na pala! Ako 5+, but still haven’t gone anywhere haha. Were blogger and wordpress available na at that time?

  7. Hi Ria, first time. here. wow, haba ng podcast, very detailed! Been blogging more than 6 years as well :).

  8. Audiophile, it’s my first time. Intro and extro fading was affected when I used a plug in. Didn’t edit this podcast anymore.

Lainee, my first blogs were on LiveJournal and Movable Type. Then, Blogger and WordPress.

Ed, will try to keep my next podcasts 10 mins or shorter.

  9. Hi Ria,

    Thanks for dropping by!

Actually, I’m not really the original host.

I just took over. Nalate ksi si Tin2x.

So impromptu ang show ko… hahahaha

    Good thing, you enjoyed it.
