Brian Bonguyan and Aimee Go-Bonguyan

My cousin, Brian just married his longtime girlfriend, Aimee. Aimee has been like a cousin to me for the past 13 years. Now, she’s officially part of our crazy family. Errr… Aims, bawal na mag-back out. Welcome!

Our family has had several weddings in the past few years, but Brian and Aimee’s is the best we have witnessed so far. Why? It was a beautiful wedding even made more beautiful by their cheesy love story which has lasted for 13 (almost 14 years). Brian and Aimee became a couple when they were just 13 years old. They’re both 27 now and both have never had any other relationship with other people. They are each other’s first and last. TIBAY!

On October 15, 2010 (as the feng shui calendar dictated), Charles Brian Jose Bonguyan wed Aimee Wee Go.

I was supposed to write their vows, I did. But they both forgot to bring copies to the church. LOL! Here are their vows as I wrote it:

Brian to Aimee:

I have loved a lot of things in my life: GI Joes, cars and racing, photography, airsoft, wakeboarding, farming… but one thing remain constant in my heart, you. I have loved you for more than half my life, through car shows, races, tournaments, business ventures, photo shoots, events, hobbies, vacations, and my everyday life. Through joys and pains, through triumphs and failures, through ups and downs, through new ventures, hobbies, and passions, we remain constant with each other. You remain with me, by my side. Today I commit the rest of my life to you, to the family we will be having, and the life that we will continue to enjoy with each other. Today I wed thee, my first and last love, Aimee Wee Go.

Aimee to Brian:

There are seven continents in this world. And five oceans separating them. I have been to a lot of places in those continents, and have crossed those oceans. I have been to Washington, New York, and Texas, tasted the fine chocolates of Europe, took photos of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Tromphe, ventured into South Africa and Asia, but home will always be here in Davao with you. My feet has traveled far and wide, my eyes have seen so many things, and I have experienced so many adventures yet I always look forward to trips going home to you or with you. I find comfort in your jokes and laughter. I feel secure knowing that I will always have somebody who will always welcome me home. 14 years together may seem to be a long time, but not it’s long enough. I commit to you myself and the rest of my life as I wed thee today, the home to where my heart belongs, Brian Bonguyan.
