Here's To The Crazy Ones

Here’s to the crazy ones…

Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in square holes, the ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.

Nice, moving ad, don’t you think? I can definitely relate.

The irony of it though is how majority of the people who use Mac products are not the crazy ones in the wise, forward-thinking way anymore. They buy Mac precisely because it’s the “in” thing… and they’re only crazy because they buy expensive stuff when there are cheaper versions by other brands.

Nonetheless, I like the ad, and I’d like to have an Apple iPod and a Mac Book. 😛

And yeah, I hope I get one idea crazy enough to change the world, and the courage to actually fight for it.

  1. Macs are expensive here in the Philippines because resellers add a premium of over 50%.

In countries where there’s actually Apple stores, the low-end macbook sells for $1099. If you were a student in the US, slash a $100. Get a $100 printer for free. Get a $200 iPod nano for free. And you’d end up with a P29k macbook in the richest country instead of the P65k macbook here in our poor country.

So maybe people who buy macs in our country are crazy for paying that much premium. But I wouldn’t call them the majority.
