Poker + Blogging Skills = TV Show
When I heard that a local poker tv show is on the works and they’re looking for a host, I didn’t hesitate. I WANTED TO BE PART OF IT!
Yes, I wanted to host the show, but I wanted to be part of the production more. Having played poker for more than two years, and being a blogger / writer / PR consultant, I thought I had the credentials to be part of the show.
Two nights ago, I went to the production company’s office to audition, telling the director I would also be interested in being a writer for the show or as part of the production team.
Yesterday morning, I received a message that I have been chosen to be part of the team. WOOHOO! And that there would be a meeting and technical rehearsal at around 3 pm. Ooops! I had a workshop/dinner with my friends.
I wen to the workshop/dinner but left for about an hour for the meeting at the poker club. Met the two hosts, Carol Smith who has been a poker player and a former DJ. I told the director that she would be the perfect host. And I’m happy they agreed. The other host is Soy, I haven’t really talked to her yet.
Also got to meet some of the members of the production team. And I was informed I would be the writer and segment producer of the show. Ooohkay! Theoretically, I know what those mean. And I have attended a couple of video blogging shows by THE Kring Elenzano So I kinda know what to do. KINDA!
And I did these sort of videos ON MY OWN before…
After the workshop/dinner, I went back to the poker club for the technical rehearsal. The crew was having a mock tournament so they’d understand the game better. Then, we had a rehearsal with sit N go players at the TV table. I had to practice taking down notes. I was used to doing it before and I think I will get back to my rhythm soon. Hopefully, by tomorrow.
Here I am… 1 am and I am at home instead of watching a movie and having a good time with my friends. Because we start taping tomorrow. And I have to write the script. LOL!
I hope my poker experience and blogging/video blogging/podcasting skills will serve me well.
Thank you very much to Kenth Bajo and the Southspot Crew for giving me the chance and to Sir Bong Gallego and EP Choco!
Many thanks to Hairs and Nails Salon for my hair and SOUL Lifestyle for my clothes!
Wish us luck!
