Top 5 Reasons this Weekend will be Memorable

General Santos City Tuna Festival 2011

I am terribly excited to go to General Santos City this weekend. It’s one of my favorite places in the Philippines, mostly because of the people. My friends Donna, Avel, and Orman are just three of the wonderful people who make my every visit memorable.

This weekend, I will be visiting General Santos City once again. On Thursday, I’ll be taking the bus to Gen San from Davao along with several bloggers from Davao and Manila. And I will be there til Tuesday or Wednesday next week. Long vacation is long! And super exciting!

Here are the top 5 reasons why I am super excited:

TUNA FESTIVAL 2011

I missed the Tuna Festival last year but I’m not going to miss this one. I have witnessed Gen San’s Kalilangan Festival twice and those were fun experiences. This time, I’ll be enjoying the Tuna Fest. I’m looking forward to taking peek at the Float Parade and the Street Dancing competition.

Two Tuna Festival highlights that I am also looking forward to are the next two reasons why I am looking forward to this weekend.

MR AND MISS GENSAN 2011

I have been a judge of the Queen of Mindanao Festivals Pageant and the Lakan at Lakambini ng Kalilangan Pageant, but it will be my first time to watch the pageant and judge the candidates of Mr. and Miss Gensan. Donna will also be judging. Another judge will be Ms. Claudine Barretto. Now, that’s another first for me… judging alongside an actress.

The final pageant night will be held at the KCC Mall of Gen San. The event will be directed by Direk Dino Veloso and managed by Orman Manansala and the team of Project O! Consultants.

TUNA SASHIMI NIGHTS 2011

Another must-go-to Tuna Festival event is the Tuna Sashimi Nights 2011 that will be held every 6 pm on September 2, 3, and 4, 2011 at the Robinson’s Place General Santos City. You can have all the sashimi that you want (until supplies last, of course) plus a beer or Coke for only P150. Who wouldn’t want that?!

I certainly am ready to eat a ton of tuna sashimi and enjoy beer all three nights. See you there! 🙂

SEX TOUR TRES

4 days around Soccsksargen is definitely full of food and fun. Now on it’s third iteration, the Soccsksargen Experience Tour (SEx Tour) definitely promises more of food and fun. Running in parallel with the Tuna Fest, participants will get to enjoy the highlights of the Tuna Fest as well as go on a special tour of South Cotabato, General Santos City, and Sarangani Province.

The tour is organized by Avel of Sox Bloggers and will be attended by over 30 bloggers from all over Mindanao.

PARAISO VERDE RESORT AND WATER PARK

One of the places we’re going to visit during SEx Tour Tres is the Paraiso Verde Resort and Water Park in Koronadal City, South Cotabato. It is a world-class resort with four water attractions.

I have been to the park and it is spectacular. However, my first visit was work-related so I didn’t have too much fun. This time, it will be more fabulous since I will be there with other bloggers and we will definitely have a lot of fun.

So there you go, the Top 5 Reasons why I am so excited for this weekend to arrive. I have been anticipating this weekend for months, and it’s gonna happen in a few days.

See you soon Gen San! 🙂
