Starting the New Year

Happy New Year
Happy New Year
I began the new year with this status message on my Facebook: Happy New Year! May 2010 be kinder, more fruitful, and more productive for all those who deserve it. A toast to beauty, truth, happiness, peace, and love! May we all get what we deserve. ♥

But here’s how I really spent the last days of 2009 and first days of 2010…

Kitchen Reminders

I was frantically busy in the kitchen cooking and baking stuff for my family and friends, most challenging of which was preparing the Noche Buena for the Abellas. Main dish was steak, served with a cheese platter, sashimi, mashed potatoes, gravy, and blue cheese sauce. I also prepared my famous beef stew and tiramisu for the Joses. And the pastry kitchen? I spent hell in it for four days… brownies, cheesecakes, chocolate cakes, OH MY!

I also spent a lot of time with my classmates. Both my high school and grade school batchmates had 10 year shindig things. I was able to attend my grade school batchmates’ party. I was able to re-connect with a lot of old friends. Had a fun time reminiscing. But I missed our HS batch’s grand thing at Eden. I was too busy. BOOO! Good thing we had more fun together at the Mike and Mikong’s birthday party thing. Where, among others, I had closure with an old friend. 🙂 And yeah, Rock Band… We loves it!

And of course, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without time with the family. I was able to spend time with a lot of my relatives, mostly just talking and eating together.

Which brings me to one of my new year’s resolutions, eat healthier, lose weight, wear a bikini during the summer. Do not be a fashion victim. Haha! And I do plan to take up dance classes. I want ballroom, but I am also interested in jazz or modern. You guys got any suggestions? Some people suggested striptease or pole dancing… if only those were available here in Davao. I plan to look fab, feel confident, and be healthy this 2010.

And oh, I did finally end things with him who shall not be named. It wasn’t as heartbreaking or sad as I thought it would be. Another resolution… love earnestly and sincerely, without forgetting to love myself. 🙂

And work? Haven’t done much the past few days but I am flexing my non-existent muscles and looking forward to a lot of good things, haggard-inducing workload for 2010. We can do it! 🙂

Thank you to all my relatives, friends, and loved ones who made 2009 memorable. It wasn’t my best year, not a shining moment of my life, but it was very memorable. A toast to us all who deserve to be happy. 🙂
