Team Bonguyan

Proud to Be Part of Team Bonguyan

I am proud to be part of Team Bonguyan. Team Bonguyan Published from the Page of Luis "Louie" C. Bonguyan, congressional candidate for the First District of Davao City: You can create and propagate a lie in one day. You can successfully destroy a person's credibility. But in the end, you have achieved nothing good. Team Bonguyan has ran a clean and honest campaign since the first time our candidate ran as Councilor of Davao City way back in 1988. We take immense pride in this and despite the odds, we have never and will never resort to bribery, vote buying, mud slinging, and black propaganda. 15 years of untainted record in public service is no mean feat. The entire city has witnessed that. If there's one thing we are proud of it's that our candidate has remained credible and trust worthy through his years as a public servant. We believe in our candidate and in his platform. And if we win, it will be because our candidate has won over the people, fair and square. We are and will always be proud to be part of Team Bonguyan. Yes, very proud to be part of Team Bonguyan.

Project 100 Days: Sundays with Cousins

Came home a few minutes ago and rushing to publish this before it turns midnight. That's around 15 minutes left. I spent the entire day, as I do most Sundays, with my relatives. We had lunch at our aunt's house. And just like mot Sundays, we had lechon. We have that like once a month. Nom nom... We also had lots of other great food. Usually, my aunts or some of my cousins (or I) would cook food or bake some sweets for Sunday lunch. But today, most of the food in the lunch spread was bought. But they were all as delicious as our own cooking. After lunch, we spent around 3 hours just sitting around the table, eating whatever was still on the table while watching the local noontime variety show and gossiping about celebrities and random people. LOL! Some of my cousins (obviously me not included) spent time playing with our uber hyper pamangkins. We then went over to a local milk tea shop. It has been our sort of ritual for some time now that we would have some milk tea on Sundays. Our current favorite is Sencha Milk Tea Place where we had milk tea…

Thank You and Good Bye 2010!

Dear 2010, It has been a bittersweet love hate affair between you and I. The heartaches, the illness, work-related stress, and the personal struggles were equally matched with victories, awards, career opportunities, newfound friends, and another chance at life. Thank you! It has been a life-changing year. The world really does have a way of making things go right or wrong to shake us and make us realize things. I would like to think that 2010 made me stronger, wiser, and better. Also bigger. Literally. I vow to change that in 2011. Figuratively, I guess I've done even better than I expected, as a blogger, as a writer, and as a person. To all the people who made me laugh, who caused me grief, who helped me achieve victories, or contributed to my pains, salamat! To Mommy and Daddy, to the Joses and the Abellas, and to my other relatives, thank you for being there! Always. To my friends from grade school, high school, college, culinary school thank you for keeping in touch and for always reminding me of who I was and who I should be! To my DotA and kubo friends, thank you for always making me laugh…

Because I Have to Say These

It has been a rough few months and a brutal year. On the other hand, it has been a challenging and fulfilling one career-wise. With my recent life-threatening illness, I felt that life has not yet gotten tired of giving me more shiz to be emo and angry about. Then again, after more than a month of struggling, I am happy and very grateful to be alive. And yes, I have gotten a bit mellow and is more accepting of how things are. I can easily let go of things now. Despite the challenges and hurdles, I was perfectly happy. That is until last weekend. It was off to a good start until certain things were said. And yes, those might have been in jest, but it's never a happy moment when somebody tells you that your dead father, the one you never really knew, was a very good and kind person and they wonder why you're not a good and kind person. HARSH! And to be told over and over again that your struggle to stay afloat and live a happy life alone can be solved by swallowing your pride and apologizing to somebody who has hurt you so…
