January 2018 Word: NEW [Blogging Challenge]

It's 2018 and there is no better way to start the year than with a challenge. This year, I want to push myself to be a better blogger, vlogger, content manager, netizen... whatever it is I do. One way I thought I could push myself is to require myself to post in every online outlet I have at least once every month. And I can achieve this by imposing a theme for every month. Let us begin with the January 2018 Word: NEW. January 2018 Word: NEW. New clothes. New smile. January 2018 Word: New New may mean anything. A new me. A new dish I made or tried, a new habit, a new friend, a new product. Anything new. Whatever new means to me and you, in different ways, that is ok. For clarity, though... the Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines new as follows. Definition of NEW 1 : having recently come into existence : recent, modern 2 a (1) : having been seen, used, or known for a short time : novel (2) : unfamiliar b : being other than the former or old 3 : having been in a relationship or condition but a short time 4 a :…

Podcast 1: Cebu Blog Camp

I have been blogging for more than six years. (I know, right?) After attending the Cebu Blog Camp last weekend, I became more inspired to improve as a blogger. I decided to finally do something I have never tried: PODCAST. My first podcast was as a guest in the Pakbet Podkast last Sunday which was so sabog and funny. I did mention the Cebu Blog Camp there but we also talked about a lot of other things. I decided that I would start my own podcast. And since I am not sure yet what my podcasts are going to be about and how I am going to structure and direct it, I decided to make a test podcast with Cebu Blog Camp as a topic. You can download the podcast at this link. I know it's not much but I tried. :P Here are some important links: Cebu Blog Camp Site The Organizers Speakers and their Topics Info on Blogger Template Designer Jayvee Fernandez's YouTube Channel My Presentation Slides on "Blogging in the Community, for the Community" Once again, thank you to Winston Almendras for the invitation, Chiq Montes for the accommodations, and to John Mendoza and the rest of…

Disconnected

Did you ever feel like life is happening around you but you are not a part of it? That's what I feel right now. I feel a sort of disconnection with the world, like things are happening around me and I'm too caught up with the different things I am busy with to be part of the bigger picture. It's like there's that great big world out there... and I'm not part of it. I have the life I'm living and all the work I'm doing. I am actually quite happy with my life right now. But it feels like something is missing. It's like I do not belong to the world where other people are, like I have this tiny space, all to myself... a bubble where all that exists is me and my life and nobody can really fully understand who I am, what I feel, what I am doing. I also feel like a fish in an aquarium. Isolated, not with others but seen by others. I'm not a celebrity, but my blogs sometimes act like that glass wall that separates me from the outside world. It separates me, and at the same time, it broadcasts and…

This is Why I Have a Personal Blog

A lot of people ask why I even bother with a personal blog when I have all those other niche blogs. Click to know my answer... MWAHAHAHAHAHA! :P Seriously though... I have a personal blog because it is my outlet for everything, my happiness, my sadness, my excitement, my angst, my favorite things, my pet peeves, the people I love, and those I hate. It's like having a counselor, only it doesn't tell me to do things. I also serves as my virtual album and memory bank. Whenever I browse through my archives, I am amazed at the things I wrote, the events in my life, I emotions I felt, and the people I met along the way. I also reminds me of my mistakes, and the lessons I've learned. So why do I have a personal blog? Because I want to, and there's nothing you can do about it. :P
