…with Kim Sam Soon 🙂
I have been obsessing over the Korean Drama “My Name is Kim Sam Soon.” I already liked it when I was able to watch a few episodes when it aired on the local channel GMA 7. But I wasn’t able to watch everything.
Thanks to the magic of the internet and my Kdrama expert friend Brendel, I am now watching the complete series, with two episodes to go. I am loving every moment of it, except the scenes with Yoo Hee Jin and Doctor Henry Kim. Pft! Otherwise, I love it. <3
In Episode 14, Kim Sam Soon and Sam Shik finally dates, FOR REAL! And Sam Soon tells Sam Shik they should do seven things as a couple. Here's her list…
- #7 Shopping while holding hands.
- #6 Photo of Sam Soon’s boyfriend on her phone.
- #5 Take a train ride while drinking beer on the way to Pusan.
- #4 Say “I love you Kim Hee Jin*” in front of everyone.
- #3 Get intimate while watching a horror movie.
- #2 Get couple rings.
- #1 Introduce each other to their parents as each other’s boyfriend/girlfriend.
*At this point of the Kdrama, Sam Soon changed her name to Hee Jin.
And because I’m channeling Kim Sam Soon, my next boyfriend, as in real boyfriend (no more pretend boyfriends) will have to suffer having to do these seven things. I LOL! Except maybe #5 because errr Pusan is sooo far ya know. So instead of a bus ride, we’ll take a land trip to anywhere near Davao and we prolly won’t be drinking beer coz it’s dangerous to drink and drive. 😛
I obviously can’t introduce him to my parents coz it’s complicated ya know. But he’ll definitely have to meet my uber critical cousins and my Mommy and Daddy. 🙂
And instead of couple rings, maybe a couple shirt or something else not so OA or expensive. Basta something identical that we’ll both have.
It might be fun. 🙂

I’m glad you liked My Name is Kim Sam Soon. It’s such a beautiful drama, binibigyang pag-asa ang mga chunky laban sa mga payatot tulad ni Hee Jin. 🙂

Sam Soon’s list reminded me of the ten rules in the Korean movie “My Sassy Girl”, a really nice film. The rules are from the guy’s perspective 😀
1. Don’t ask her to be feminine.
2. Don’t let her drink over three glasses. She’ll beat someone.
3. At a cafe, drink coffee instead of coke or juice.
4. If she hits you, act like it hurts. If it hurts, act like it doesn’t.
5. On your 100th day together give her a rose during her class. She’ll like it a lot.
6. Make sure you learn fencing and squash.
7. Also be prepared to go to prison sometimes.
8. If she says she’ll kill you, don’t take it lightly. You’ll feel better.
9. If her feet hurts, exchange shoes with her.
10. She likes to write, encourage her.
